15 minutes of me simply typing

I am just going to type for fifteen minutes and see where that takes me. I am not going to allow my fingers to stop moving for fifteen minutes. Unless I have an itch or something then I will scratch it and start typing again. So I just got back from work...fun. I work at a movie rental place. FUN...Not! A well trained NASA monkey could do my job. Notice I say NASA monkey because 1. I would like to keep some of my dignity. 2. apparently some people aren't smarter than them....proof people who work at my store. This is my job in a nut shell. Check in movies, check out movies, take people's cash and give correct change, hit a button so people can use credit cards, put away movies. FIN, done that is it...unless people choose to make my life more difficult. Like let's say people who give 100 dollar bills for something that is 5 dollars. Our drawers mostly are only suppose to have about 150 dollars in them on average. That is 150 dollars all together that includes change. We usually only have 5s and 1s in dollar bills unless someone gives us 20s. So if you give me a 100 dollar bill I am basically stuck giving you 95 dollars back is 5s and singles. Then I have to wait ten minutes for the safe to go off before I can get more money for my drawer. REALLY PEOPLE!! CARRY SMALLER BILLS OR BUY MORE STUFF! I am not kidding. Why do you carry 100 dollar bills anyway? If you are going grocery shopping that works wonderfully because hey on average people spend that much on groceries but seriously....other than that...why?

Also another thing...why do people feel the need to use rented movies like frisbees? REALLY WHY? I WANT TO know! I get movies back sometimes that look like someone pressed them up against a brick wall and then twisted them. Or they have rings on them like they were used as a coaster....seriously guys come on. Just because you paid for it for a week does not mean you can do as you please with it.

Another thing... PS3, XBOX360, and WII games cost a LOT of money. It is a privilege to rent them...not a right. If you cannot provide us with a way of charging you for damaging/not returning them you don't get to rent them...sorry...not really...

Also don't yell at me because of the way the store is run. I have no control over store policy. While sometimes I would like to throw many of the rules out the window...I can't for two reasons. 1. we don't have windows that open and 2. I would get fired. If you can't return a movie within its given due date you get charged...period. If you don't like it don't complain to me or my manager. Call corporate and complain to their voicemail, leave your number, and they will never call you back. If you can't find/forgot to bring your membership card/State ID I cannot rent to you. That is for your protection. If we were allowed to do that someone could say they are you, rent on your account and you would be held accountable for anything that happens to those movies. Also the store is not my life...I do other things other than work. I don't have time to watch EVERY MOVIE...nor would I want to watch every movie. So do not get mad at me if I did not watch Meet the Spartans because I actually have a brain. Also don't yell at me if a movie was terrible we guarantee that the quality of the dvd not the movie that is on it.

So ends my little rant. I do have a few parting words. Be nice to the person who checks out your movies. If you are good things may happen, one of your movies may just happen to be free. If you are mean you may find that the movie you want is all checked out or worse.
